My father in law was down there a few weeks ago. Said it was crap. Fished all day for 1 fish. Hit all of the normal spots where we have done really good in the past.

That is a fishery is the best example of a “once was”. It use to be SO GOOD! I remember a day around 2008/2009 that a group of us trolling literally caught and released over 100 fish. Even after living in AK for over ten years I’ve still gotten my biggest trout out of Rufus.

If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Also looking for a recent report. Trying to take the boys down for some fishing. Thought we’d spend a day down river after fishing above the dam.

That would work just fine but you will need to launch at the res campground if you plan on fishing around the pens. Ramps are far apart and bucking current back to seatons would take you hours .

We fished it yesterday from the Rez ramp/campground.
We caught 14 walleye, released one 9 pound hen, and we landed about 55 trout. The trout were caught all within one hour.
5 poles. We fished 7 hours on the water. Saw 3 herds of Muleys. The weather was great!!
