A couple CZ/BRNO rescues that turned out pretty nice
« on: March 20, 2025, 08:00:30 PM »
A 1985 ZKM model 2E 22LR and a 1992 ZKB 222.  You probably know them better as a 452 and a 527.
There are a bunch of photos here
https://www.rimfirecentral.com/threads/1985-brno-mod2e-i-think-i-did-pretty-good.1322547/

If this looks like something you’d like to try and have any questions just ask in a post or PM.

Have an old sears and roebuck .22 mag that was my fathers from when he was a kid. I’d love to do something like this with it.

Here’s how the ZKM turned out.  I was able to get the rear sight parts I needed off of a CZ 455 sight set.  The set came with a front ramp set I’ll use to get the ZKB a little closer to looking respectable.

There are more photos up on the RFC thread.

Finally got a dedicated bolt for the 527 and scopes mounted to both.

Nice!  Love my 452.

We have 457s and 452s and a 453.  The 452/453 is the last of the ZKM series.

I think so highly of the ZKM that people think I’m joking when I say that it represents the consummate, ultimate expression of the rimfire sporting rifle theme.  There are others out there like the Mauser KKW, Kimber, Cooper etc that are right there along with it, but none surpass it and a really nice ZKM can be found for $500 - $600.  The others it would be a very lucky hit to pick up for anywhere near that.
