I'm not much for scores and prizes but I knew as soon as I tagged this blacktail in 2023 that he was special. So on a whim i had it scored and entered into Pope and Young and lo and behold I got an invite to come to their convention in Arizona this past weekend to have it displayed.

He took 3rd in the typical Columbia Blacktail deer category and was the only Blacktail (both typical/non-typical) from Washington state. The others were from either Oregon or California. Shout out to Tim Tuttle Creative taxidermy for crushing the mount, it couldn't have turned out any better!
