« on: April 16, 2025, 08:58:32 AM »
I know its just an antlerless permit but from what i see the below permit overlaps the general rifle season and if someone draws this hunt hunter orange is not required? Looks like a mistake to me. Whats your thoughts

I noticed the regs seem to be off with where they added the “H” for orange requirements. Anytime an area is open to modern firearm deer or elk you are supposed to wear orange when hunting as I understand it.

Hunter Orange would be required if any deer and/or elk modern season is open in that GMU at that time.

(3) It is unlawful to hunt wildlife, except migratory birds, during those times and in those places open to taking of deer or elk during nonmaster hunter, modern firearm general seasons, unless the hunter is wearing fluorescent hunter orange and/or fluorescent hunter pink clothing.

I suspect using the defense "There wasn't an H for this hunt in the regulations" probably wouldn't worry very well.
