Gators!
« on: April 18, 2025, 06:19:15 AM »
Did a bucket list hunt with the wife and killed a couple sweet gators and some bonus hogs. The biggest was a true specimen, absolutely a prehistoric beast that has been around long enough to see some serious changes in this world but has survived them all. Also got to chase down and hand catch a 5.5-6 footer, that was a rush!

Wow, that is a masher.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

Awesome! I've got some buddies back home that seem to get tags every year or two. Need to look into getting a tag myself eventually.

Are you getting any soft goods made with the skin? Boots, bags, etc.

And there is absolutely no way I'm wrestling the "small" one!

We are doing a rug with hers, it will fit on the wall a little better. My big one is getting tanned and a euro. These are wild critters, the foulness that comes out of their stomach into their mouth is absolutely rotten. If you get bit I think the infection would be the worst part if you survived, although you probably won’t, they are SO strong. These were harvested in Florida, we were able to kind of do it all, beach bum, have great meals, swamp crawl, get bloody, air boat, kayak, fish, hit some cool historical stuff and more. What a great state, if you have been wanting to do something similar you absolutely should make it happen!
