Get in the best shape of your life and learn to boondock in the high country. Or find private property down low, get permission to hunt off agricultural land. There is so much country in between they can get pretty spread out so it can involve a lot of glassing. Glass and move. If neither of those are an option, pray for bad weather to drive them down out of the high country.

Used to be much easier, my first time mule deer hunting coming from the west side I killed a forkie ( legal back then) and a guy had a huge 5x5 hanging in camp.  Miss those days.

1) least amount of work....
Wake up really early on opening day.
O'dark thirty, Then go to some high elevation mountain.
Follow the headlights to the top.

2) more work.....
Buy 30 trail cams,200 battery,and 30 SD cards.
Put cams out in random spots and pray.

3) most work....
All summer spend your week days on ONX,then spend every weekend boots on the ground glassing, learning the lay of the land.
See them on the hoof before season, which is as good as it gets.

4) All of the above......
Plus some cell trail cams.
You'll find some in no time.
Ohh ya almost forgot....
Beg Karl to point you in the right direction.
If Karl points you in the right direction,PM ME let me know cause I need help too......lol..... 😂

I didn't know I was being hunted.
Many on this site don't know my name is Mike.

Lots and lots of scouting/learning. Then get ready to put on boot miles. Yes, you may “bump” into a bruiser driving up a road but it will be because HE made the mistake. It does happen from time to time. We all have seen it happen or heard of it happening. Know the animal, know the habits, know the environment. Food, water, cover. Pretend you’re being hunted and had to survive, eat, drink and stay out of the “limelight” so to speak. Good luck.

And Karl since everyone is rousing you, have a Pepsi Day!👍😆
