Tag issues with "Get Outdoors" package

So I bought my licenses back in April, and got the "Get Outdoors" package which gives me all of my tags. They finally mailed it to me a couple weeks later, and I pulled out my license receipt so I'd have it with me when I went fishing, but didn't go through the whole thing.

I go to enter my special hunts this weekend, and I can't put in for any elk or deer hunts - it tells me I don't have the authorized weapon type ("Modern") or location ("Eastern"). I then went through the envelope that I had received, and lo and behold there are no elk or deer tags in it. I'm pretty sure I specified my Modern and Eastern preferences when I bought them, since I'm pretty consistent with those selections.

So apparently the system either doesn't think I bought those tags, or it doesn't have my preferences indicated. Even though the system says you can specify your preferences at a later date after purchase, I can't seem to find where to do that in my profile at WDFW. I've sent an e-mail in and I'll call tomorrow, but with the holiday weekend and last minutitis on my part (Stupid vacation delays!) I don't think I'll be getting it resolved immediately.

Luckily my receipt shows that I bought the package which includes the tags, but with no physical tags I could be in for rough sailing in convincing WDFW to send me new ones. Meanwhile, since it's already 2 days to deadline, I'll probably be taking the points option for everything this year...

Anyone else had this prob, or know how to change/update your tag preferences after purchase?

Log back into your account, use the drop down category menu and look under "tags". Add your deer and elk tags to your cart and check out.

Apparently I'm an idiot - in the FAQ section of the special permits it says if you don't specify your weapon and area when you purchase your tags online, you will need to go and have them printed out by an authorized dealer. Even though I would swear up and down that I specified (This had never happened before...), I went to my local sporting goods store and got them printed out without a problem. Cost me a whole buck.

Season saved.

Karl - I couldn't find any way to add them to my cart through my profile, but then again there's a lot about the WDFW vendor page that doesn't make sense to me...

Similar happened to my hunting buddy while attempting to buy his special hunt draws.  Went to purchase tags area for the draws and there was the elk tag and deer tag, both with the fee of 0.00.  Just add to cart along with your special hunts and all worked fine. 

So, in order to put in for a special draw tag, you must have that species "tag" first.  It all makes sense in the end.

I don't know why they can't simplify things on that site, drives me nuts and makes me say all kinds of bad words! Most unfriendly user site out there! :bash:
