South Sound Creek Trout
« on: May 14, 2025, 07:52:39 AM »
Any recommendations on a creek/river around the Tacoma area to catch a few dinker trout this time of year? Either bobber fishing, swinging panther martins or flies.

Preferably, somewhere that's not tweakerville.

Context: taking a nice lady out Sunday morning. Don't need a honey hole, just a pleasant spot with a potential to catch something. All my creek trout fishing knowledge is more off Hwy 2.

No recommendations but make sure you check the regualtions. A "few" trout will probably be illegal in most cases and whether a stream or river being open is almost making it challenge to be confident that it is. Good luck!

 :yeah:

Most creeks, if they open at all, don't open until the Saturday before Memorial Day.

Sent you a pm.

I remembered the Memorial Day-ish typical openings after posting and flying around the Fish Wa app. Think we'll try to target some smallies instead.

Thanks @Bullkllr we may check that out.
