I’m not sure why they wouldn’t just run the draw and change the permit numbers for those hunts to zero available. If you have it as your first choice and your name gets drawn first you just get the your next choice if available. :dunno:
Good question, I will pass that along today.  I'm sure after the wdfw email or notice went out most will be changing their choices now anyway??
“In common with”..... not so much!!

According to WDFW and the YTC the closure is due to the federal hiring freeze not allowing the YTC being able to backfill police positions which check-in hunters and military readiness training.

Probably. Plus they already know who filed for those permits went out so they should be able to email those few who already put in and get them changed before the draw. And of course my solution should work also. I’m just shocked their first response was “ this is going to slow down the draw”. It really shouldn’t based on what I know about the draw.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Are you really shocked?  Has our state ever not taken advantage of an opportunity to blame the feds for their slow responses?

As of May 7th to get base access now you need a passport or the preferred enhanced ID which can be scanned at the gate. The Passport can't and takes longer to process to get your pass. Military and civilian base employees all need the ID upgrade.
God Bless,
Scott
