Blonde elk
« on: May 20, 2025, 01:24:45 PM »
I've watched several blonde bulls and cows over the last 15yrs but, this has to be the coolest one yet. I've watched it grow since it was a calf.

Very cool. Is that the new white meat?

any time one carries bone on his head the gun boys shoot them lol. I passed this guy a few times in archery BUT, he stayed with the herd in to NOV that year and got dropped. We have 1-3 blondes in the valley most years.

Cool pics!

I killed a totally blond bull elk in British Columbia about 30 years ago.  Every hair on his bod was a light bleach blond color (or colour, since he was in B.C.)  :)  He was really old, and maybe just bleached out with age.

In Idaho about the same era I watched a black cow elk for 20 minutes or so, with a herd of normal colors.

Fun to see these anomalies.
