Vail/general archery advice
« on: June 01, 2025, 10:51:27 AM »
So I’ve been hunting deer with pretty good success for quite a few years(although only one year in vail). This year I decided to grab a Vail permit again, and honestly I’m pretty new to elk hunting in general.

While I’d love nothing more than a leg up by hearing from prior permit holders who didn’t mind sharing, I’d also greatly appreciate any general advice that could apply to elk anywhere on the west side of the state. It seems most how tos and informational deals are geared more toward the Rockies. Heck, even a direction to one of those “elk hunting school” type deals would be appreciated as well. I know there’s a few of those, but again I’m kinda hung up on paying for one only to discover it’s geared more towards Idaho/Wyoming/Colorado/Montana etc.

Thanks guys!
