Norway Pass Bull
« on: June 15, 2025, 12:12:23 PM »
This is a pic of my Norway Pass bull we got this past season with a muzzleloader, 4 1/2 miles in, it was an epic hunt, the scenery  was awesome, the whole experience was memorable as I had my son and grandson on the hunt with me, great hunt with better memories for sure, so good luck to all who drew this year. Just wanted to say thank you for everyone on this site who were willing to give advice, so appreciative .

Nice bull! 4 1/2 miles in you got me curious. Did you come in from Norway pass or from Coldwater lake?

Had to be from Norway trail. 4.5 miles from Coldwater would get you just to the back of the Lake

Hunted that area several years back. Beautiful country, especially up top in the Oval lake/Panhandle area. The push coming out from Grizzly lake to Bear pass was a haul!
Waiting for a goat tag up there one of these years🤞

That’s a great bull for the Helen’s area! Congrats! There was a lady with a Norway rifle tag that was planning to hunt the Western side of the unit, never heard how she did. Did you hear anything about how she may have done? I was on the Whittier hunt; so I heard and saw photos of quite a few different people’s success, including yours. Never heard about hers though.

Again, stud bull. Nice work!

Great Bull GLS!! That unit becomes a part of you after a hunt up there. Big score to get it that close to the trailhead as well.

WE watched that bull from across the 26 road at the lookout between Green River Horse Camp and Norway Pass Trailhead, so when the season opened we tried up by Bear Camp, Norway side but most of the elk had left and for the most part the bugling had stopped, so about Thursday night we saw him once again, Friday mid day we crossed the Green River, and headed up to where we thought the bull was, it was 4.5 miles from camp to the bull.

Thank you guys and especially those willing to share info, it may have only been 4.5 miles, but at 71 years old it was far enough for me, we didn't get back to camp with the first load of meat until 1:30 am, the next morning we headed back in at 8 and got back to camp at 4, it was the best experience, my son and grandson made it extra special, great memories.
