Our group hunted both sides of the road from ski bowl east and west. One guy hunted south side from above Finley Canyon to Cook Mountain, saw a handful of deer in 1st week. Of course we hope that the weather will bring them down and give you a chance at a BIG one!
We did see a lot of movement when it snowed one day but no legal bucks. I spend My time on foot, put in many hours walking and glassing. Maybe when I put in for the 29th time next year I'll get that tag!
  :dunno:
Did see quite a few Wolf tracks on south side, that might mean there are animals here :sry:

Thanks for the intel guys.
Do you guys get the feeling that there's been enough snow in the Tiffanies to push the mountain bucks down into the unit yet?  Had a couple of buddies tell me they saw rutting bucks the last couple of days.  I wonder if those are local deer, or if they're migrators...? :dunno:
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

We made some trips around that mountain range, got up to 6500 feet,  saw a few,,, no bucks. BUT Tiffanies are 8300 feet so that would be a big difference. At 6500 feet we went though some spots with close to a foot of snow. When we camped in the Long Swamp area local guys "Tonasket" said the big bucks won't come down till it is FEET of snow.
But that said, it will move some I'm sure!
 Good Luck!

Agree.👍 The big fellas will hang in brisket deep snow or more until the “urge” hits them to chase does who will have all but gotten out of Dodge.

Speaking of Wolves, the Tiffany pack has been pretty active, going back and forth(east-west) bouncing from Tiffany turf to 8 mile turf and surrounding areas. I heard the original pack had split into two :dunno: Talked with a guy who said during the regular season 9 wolves(from what they could count) came way to close to their camp up Fawn creek, they pulled out the next day and reported it.

Well since the deer from the Tiffany's don't migrate down to the Pogue it should be irrelevant. As for the wolf packs, there's far more than any single split up pack. Has been for several years now. For anybody that continues to believe that only the alpha females breed, you've drank too much of the kool-aid. Unless there's a wad of alpha females that just showed up in recent years to breed that theory is far fetched. Cameras don't lie.

As for the thread, hope Pathfinder turns up a dandy. Might have to get up here and start though first :chuckle:

👍 absolutely. That Tiffany bunch has at least 3-4 different routes going into completely different areas(east, west and south). Yep, the big bunch that I was told “split” was originally 14-16 wolves, I believe at least 2 were collared, now, they split. Wolves running around that turf for awhile now? Oh yes! We seen our first one back in the late 80’s I believe, we told Mountjoy, he neither confirmed or denied 🤣 my brother seen 6 cross the Boulder road just past the first cattle guard about 6 years ago.
