Leupold Display fade
« on: June 24, 2025, 08:51:13 AM »
Have been dealing with my RX1000i red display fading for a while now, I understand it’s out of warranty and Leupold won’t repair the issue. Do the new models still have this issue? What has everyone switched to with success? I know it took about 5 years for this issue to arise but would like to find a replacement that lasts a little longer as well as an accurate range to 1000yards

Send it down to Leupold and they will make it right for you.
Probably an upgrade at a very reduced price.
They are interested in keeping you satisfied.

I'm surprised their warranty is only 5 years, I had an older Vortex rangefinder that quit working and they sent me a new model no questions asked.  You may remind them of that if you send it in.

Go with one of the Sig Kilo’s. Best rangefinder I’ve used so far.

Lifetime optics warranty but only a 2 year for the electronics style optics, like rangefinders

I'm surprised they aren't competitive on warranty.  Vortex even warranties their golf rangefinders for life, fully transferable - my buddy ran one over twice the same outing and got a new one in the mail a week later.

I think that vortex has to have the warranty they do or they would be out of business

Revic BR4 if you’re looking to buy once cry once and want ballistic solutions.

Should always carry a spare battery, but if you go with Sig probably two. My Sig didn’t have the common battery drain issue but it only consistently ranged to 1/4 the rated distance (1600, I’d expect 800 in good conditions, only able to consistently get 400. Occasionally it would figure itself out and range out to 600).

Leupold doesn't warranty Rangefinders older than a year, from experience.  Plus I believe they are not made in USA.
