Hunting bears in the thick stuff
« on: July 10, 2025, 02:43:01 PM »
Hi all,

Im gonna give it another go looking for bears in august. Never had any success until they move up high but I have some images of multiple bears on ancient cat roads in really thick stuff. How do you hunt this type of terrain effectively if bears are in the area? Call…. Sit….. Im clueless in August for these things.

That’s what I would try calling and sitting along an old cat trail where I could see aways.  Maybe elevate your position.

I have watched a lot of Jim Shocks stuff, seems he is always shooting bears off old cat tracks.

cover as much as ground as possible until you find fresh bear scat. then slow down.
