The photos this month were fantastic everyone.  Thanks for showing off a little bit of your talent.  There were 3 or 4 photos in here that would have won any other month.  Javman really had a special photo.

Javman really had a special photo.
All the more special because of what he had to go thru to get it.  Camping in the enchantments.  Packing all that gear up over big-time elevation changes.  Then having to practically run over ridiculously difficult terrain in order to get in position in time, before the goat got all the way across.  Sometimes great images come easily, but it's all the sweeter when they require some type of supreme effort.  When so many factors all had to come together perfectly in order to get the shot.  That's special.

Thanks I'm honored! Glad I ran for the shot now :chuckle: When we set up camp there earlier in the day, I was thinking how cool it would be to get some goat shots with the waterfall in the background. I didn't think one would actually walk across the top of it.

I'd climbed up to the top of the waterfall and crossed it to the left to take pics of the same goat. After taking pics for about 5 minutes, I stood up to retreat. That's when she (I think it was a nanny?) stood up and started walking towards me. In the time it took the goat to walk 50 feet, I had to cover about at least a hundred yards and hop off the cliff to get to where I took the pic. The first three pics were overexposed, because I'd dialed in +1.0 for the snow earlier. I had to crank that down, then turned on bracketing, and fired 13 more shots in about 10 seconds. There's a few blurry ones  :chuckle:

Here's a pic my dad took a few minutes before. He just had a hip replaced 7 months ago, and I think I complained more than he did on this trip...

I agree. Great shots. The Enchantments hold that name for a reason.

congrats Javaman! :)
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
