I can't find it in the loose form.  I tried Cabelas, the muzzleloader shop in puyallup and sportsman's warehouse  who actually carries this stuff?

Have not seen it locally, but talked with someone at a sporting shop that didn't like it as well as Triple 7.  Again...personal opinion.

I just started using it because I can't find the regular pioneer powder FFFG.  From what I have seen the only difference between the regular and the Jim shockey's gold is about $6 bucks.  shoots cleaner than 777.   Don't buy the sticks though a percussion cap wont ignite them  they are for 209's only.

I think I read somewhere that's it's not reliable in a wet environment, so for that reason I haven't and won't try it.

3 days of rain and fog in colfax late season and she fired no problem.  That was the regular pioneer powder not the jim shockey gold.  Does anyone know the difference between the two?  It is driving me crazy because it costs way more but I can't tell a difference.

Thats because the pellets are incosistant in weight.   I won't use the Gold  or the pioneer.   Muzzleloading accuracy is ALL about being consistant.  can't see why anyone would wanta use pellets that aren't.

777 for me.

Maybe it's because I use musket caps. But I have never had a crud ring issue with 777.

I will say this.  I have never tried 777 but I might this year.  The last few years I have shot 100grains of Pyrodex pellets.  This year I switched to Shockey's loose powder.  My groups with the Pyrodex were far better than what I'm getting this year with Shockey's loose powder.  My brother swears by the Shockey's clean shot stuff.

I bought the pioneer powder at cabeleas and it would;nt shoot in my gun so I gave it away. I have the best groups with 777.
