Is the Hankock Kapowsin Area worth buying the permit for elk and/or deer hunting?

You can hunt deer in there. Not elk unless you draw the Hancock specific special elk tags through Hancock. Except for those that feel they are special and privileged to hunt Elk without asking and drawing. Yes it has happened. Anyways back on topic. Some deer around and a few nice ones. Great for drive in access. Many years it gets closed to fire dangers, it is closed access during elk seasons without their elk tag, closures for logging practices and have even seen closures during wet seasons. But you can cut fire wood. Pricy for the permit but if local can be ok investment. Can hunt predators in there too for at least another option to try while with the pass.
Maturity is when you have the power to destroy someone who did you wrong but instead you breathe, walk away, and let life take care of them.

If you wanted to be entered in for the contest for elk then go for it. Good luck on the off chance you get the drawing. That said I wouldn’t buy it if I was looking for deer or predator as most seasons the close it for fire as mentioned before. I was in there twice bugling bulls last week as I think it is fun, but I do not hunt in there for deer or bear.

Hancock doesn't post how many entries they receive for the elk draws, do they? Be curious to know how many archery vs muzzle loader vs modern firearm entries they get.

Deer hunting is average. Elk hunting is amazing but you have to draw their elk permit after buying the land access permit, which is very low odds. Even though some on here think it’s ok to pretend you didn’t know the rules and shoot one anyway as long as it’s big enough…….

Still a fantastic tree farm
A few years ago my neighbor drew it archery
Took me down with him to pickup his RV after he took his bull to the locker
Amazing day
CBs and driving like a logger and elk all over
