Any luck for anyone on opening day? Went out this morning saw a lot of elk and deer in the rain down pour but no bear.

I wish...I'm on daddy duty...expecting to have to deal with doody any moment now. The wet weather got me amped up because it's much easier to creep in the rain, or just sit in the blind and listen to the rain.

If it wasn't raining I would have put the baby in the stroller and see what happens.

Was thinking of going but ended up in the cascades,  in the huckleberries.  No bear, but deer and elk.

If this one shows up regularly, I'm likely going to get a climbing stand. It's only 300 yards from road access but there's no good spot to make a blind and overlook.

I just put that cam in on Saturday and then it started malfunctioning, taking a pic every 20 seconds. It made over 12,000 images before I got back down there and swapped it with another camera.

Nice! I’ve had a few bear on multiple cameras. Right before sealing there has been an influx of people. I was getting bear on cam multiple times a day now I’m lucky to see one every couple days.

I will admit by my own fault I did not scout before going. I relied on last year this time where I found a place well used and lots of fresh bear scat. Worked a few locations for two days and it was a ghost town for bears. No sightings, very little scat or sign. Nice herd of elk and some deer. Berries were not coming on too strong yet so maybe this year things are behind. Clearly still learning this bear thing and the area.

Don't give up! It's hot out there. Where would you go if you'd had a fur coat in 90+ degree weather?

@dreadi I have a climber you can come get and just have it if you want it.  I don't use it anymore, as I lost my private access where I used to use it.

PM me if ya want/need it.

This one has been pretty consistent on cams up until more road traffic.
