Finally set up and sighted in
« on: June 28, 2009, 12:01:34 PM »
Has taken a while, but finally got everything together and sighted in. Will need a little fine tuning, but good for now. Just went up in the hills since the range was closed and it feels good to do some shooting again.

Needs to be bedded and get the custom dial made for my load. Other than that, good to go.

700 XCR
McM Edge
Leupold VX3 3.5-10x40 CDS
Talley LW

The load I'll use for hunting will most likely be 140 Accubonds from Federal. Have had good results from Accubonds in the past, both 270 and 7mm.

Finally got some better pics today, scope now wears Butler Creek caps. Tried shooting for groups, but didn't group very well. Was off a bipod, rather than something like a lead sled, so thats my excuse  :chuckle:

As you can see, two weren't bad, then one was. Happened with 140 Accubonds and 150 PPs. The 130 silver ballistic tips were on top of each other and I stopped there not wanting to mess up a good thing. Would like to get it on a solid bench and see what it can do. Maybe I just can't shoot  :'(

Accubonds. Shots with tape weren't mine, was a used target.

Powerpoints.
