First chocolate bear
« on: August 24, 2025, 08:43:41 PM »
Monday 8/18/2025 I took my buddy and his son bear hunting in a place we grew up hunting. With it being so many years since we had been up there I mostly just wanted to get out and revisit the area and see what had changed and see views that I haven’t seen in many years. First area we got to show his son mountain goats, which he said was totally awesome! We then went another direction and I quickly spotted this bear on a ridge feeding on Huckle berries. I tried to get my buddy setup on it but he could never locate the bear. With the bear moving and looking like it was about to head out I opted to shoot and made a great 333 yard shot. We went over, found blood and tracked it maybe 40 yards and found the bear. She’s a dry sow, short but stalky and my coolest looking bear to date!

What the heck is going on in the photo from the rope to the wheel well to the tag wallet and on the front leg of the bear?
