Survey in 2025

Very surprising IMO, nothing really for the bright side in hopes especially after a very mild winter. Winter migration looking in question again for the east side on paper. Mallards took a small fall to my surprise hoping to see their numbers to significantly increase from 2024.
"Breeding Waterfowl Survey, the estimated breeding duck population stands at 33.98 million. Breeding population nearly identical to 2024, but dry prairie conditions likely suppressed duck production."

Head scratcher is California reported almost 50% increases from 2024 survey for breeding mallards in their state which was highly expected as well up north that obviously didn’t happen. But someone on here says California has no bearing.

Wasn’t me saying California mallards have no bearing but that was the look of my reaction when someone said that because mallards are actually migratory.
