I shoot 3/4"100 yd 4 shot groups after adding the traditions scope.  It does have a finer crosshair than the Vortex.   I did not go to the 1x scope so I could stretch the yardage.  I have always had a 150 yd limit on my shots, and I will continue that.  I will just be doing it with a much clearer sight picture.  It is crazy how much clearer I see my target compared to my peep sight.  15 yrs ago my peep had a very clear sight picture, but at 59 not so much.

I went with the Traditions 1x muzzy scope and could not be happier with the results.

Do you have a link to the scope? What muzzleloader are you using it on. What did you use for rings and bases? Thanks!

Scheels has the Traditions 1x for around $80.  Should be able to get info off their web site.

I looked through a Traditions 1x at the store and put it back on the shelf. It just looked and felt to me that it was something that would come on a 100 dollar bb gun. I know a lot of people are using them and liking them. But it sure wasnt for me.

I felt the same way about them.

I have both the vortex and traditions. Vortex looks like you’re sighting down a tunnel and 100 yards appears to be like 200. Traditions doesn’t have that tunnel but I have not had it to the range yet to comment on performance.

I’ve been looking at all the options as well. I’ve hunted so long with open sites. When I looked through the traditions scope I honestly think I would be better off with open sites still. I haven’t used a red dot scope before, but unless a better scope option comes up that’s the route I’m going to try.

I like mine
But then again, I’m not shooting much over 100 yards if that

I haven’t looked through the traditions or vortex, coming from a Williams precision peep and globe (great setup in itself), I have been very pleased with the Leupold rds.  Traditionally have hated red dots vs traditional scopes but the RDS has kind of converted me.

I have a Bighorn and recently purchased the Leupold red dot. Looks like a pain to mount with scope and mounts covering the top of the breech. Also, to my eyes at least the red dot has a glow around even at its smallest setting. I’ve read reviews regarding that. Dunno. Kind on the fence and just committed to using my gun as is with Williams peep this close to the season?
