In 2019 I killed a bear who had a .17 caliber pellet in his fat layer, a shotgun pellet in his backstrap, and a lead sliver in a ham tendon. He must have been someone's problem-bear.

I bet the flies were awful for that bear with the hole/wound in his snout.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

That's really cool.

Not gonna like, though - I have to wonder if that hole's from the canine of another bear. You mentioned shot in the hand too?
"master" hunter - still a noob.

Interesting thread man.
I shot a buck once a little too far forward and never got him…
About a week later, out of the same tree, one of the guys from camp shot him and killed him…
Bad News...The fog is getting thicker...
And Leon's getting laaaaargerrrrrr...

Not too pretty bad...

Think this bear was from 2012 same wound.

My guess is those are K9 fighting wounds from locking up with other bears rather than gunshots but hard to be certain unless you found bullet fragments.  :dunno:

Neat either way and very resilient animals for sure (like most things in the wild).

I recall hitting a broadhead with the bandsaw in front quarter of an elk one year. Have also found modern and muzzy bullet frags butchering them over the years too.... Seems like those things only happen right after switching to fresh blades  :bash:
Take one new person out hunting every year.

I figured mine was from a bite as well and not a gun shot.
