2021 bear had been previously shot before I killed him
« on: September 09, 2025, 07:19:45 PM »
Hey guys!

Just out of curiosity, how many of yall have killed a bear that was previously shot? My bear I shot in 21 had been previously shot in the head and the front paw. Favorite animal to hunt as they are hard to kill!

His tongue appeared normal, but I also didn't pay that much attention to it lol.

That's crazy.
I haven't seen anything like that.

@CaNINE shot a monster a few years back.
The skull had a really interesting wound as well.
I believe he posted pics here.

I killed a deer one year who'd been shot with a pistol round (coulda been a PCC).  He was hurt pretty bad, but hadn't been recovered.  Wasn't an old would.

Killed another one with a bad scar that appeared to be a broadhead in a non-lethal area.

My first P&Y animal was a big Bear I shot with a Recurve. When I gutted him I found the back 8" of an aluminum arrow from the year or 2 before. It was a high shot above the lungs and had broke a rib, nicked the spine and nicked the rib on the far side and completely healed up and you would never have known by looking at him. Healthy as could be. Like said previously, tough mothers

Ya.  It's not all that uncommon for domestic bulls to get a broken wiener.  One of the reasons most cows are bred artificially now.
