We hunted state land Winston and Mossyrock
4 days
Saw zero elk
Saw zero deer in the woods
Talked to a couple of locals
Apparently the Winston had a big die off a few years back
Had no idea
Minimum of fresh track
Big azz moon
Frankly it sucked

Did hear of a gal from Mossyrock that got a pretty nice 6x5 though

More ML hunters than I have ever seen on the westside. 4 days of hunting and didn't see one elk, full moon didn't help I'm sure. We usually see 20 plus elk in the same area every year.

Called one in to 10 yards…a young solo cow. She came right up to me on the side, darted away but then came right back and looked my way for a few minutes at least before moving off. Came in on cow calls with a diaphragm. Didn’t see anything else.
As great as archery is, there are a lot of drawbacks
