Winterizing a travel trailer?

What’s your approach?
I consider myself somewhat mechanically inclined. However I’m not understanding the use of the pink antifreeze in all the holding tanks and water lines that have been suggested to me.  My logic tells me to drain the hot water heater,clear the pump, blow all the lines clear (not to much pressure as those fittings are not the strongest, use the pink antifreeze in the drains and you should be good
I’ve winterized many house in this manner and never had issues.
If you clear all the water from the system you shouldn’t need to spend the time and money on adding the antifreeze. (Other than drains and holding tanks)Am I missing something ?

We did exactly what you are saying for many years and never had a problem.  We always left the drain plug out of the water heater as well.  Empty everything, blow out the lines, poor pink anti freeze in the drains for pee traps. and closer her up for the winter.  Easy as that.

Don’t forget outside showers and that little part behind the toilet, it holds a tiny bit of water.  I think when I blew my lines out, I forgot to have someone step on the flusher, next spring I had a leak there.  But yeah, I’ve never used antifreeze in my lines.

Yes, I leave the plug loose on the hot water tank, good time in the spring to replace the sacrificial rod too.

Adding the antifreeze to the lines only takes an extra 5 minutes. Just another preventive task just incase there is any water in the lines that somehow didn't get blown out with the air. I have always thought the same as you but I still run it in the lines anyways.

and I leave my low point and outside spigots and drains open
I put some foam pieces around my outside shower and outside kitchen

When I had an in bed camper I just drained out the water from every where, and left all the faucets/drains open. I also stored it under cover in the barn.

Depending on the age of your unit... older ones blow out the lines with air and dump some pink in sink and its not a bad idea to run some into your pump.

New RVs have a valve and a stub of pipe. Flip the valve and put the stun of pipe into the gallon of antifreeze and run the pump and thats it.

All RVs pull the annode from your water heater and leave it out. Put in a new one every year. Thats the part you will forgot and cant figure out why nothings working until you go outside and there is water pouring out. Dont ask me how I know. Haha

Now, how many folks know how to "summarize" RVs for leaving them in the desert?

No always put on a battery tender. Theyre cheap and make your deep cycles last 10x longer
 Don't forget to top off with distilled water if they are serviceable. I forgot last year and had a battery blow up.

But save the leftover Propylene Glycol. Great laxative. 

Kidding, not kidding. I looked at the ingredients on a bottle of Miralax once. That's all it is.

I've done it both ways. I have a small air compressor and it took a bit to blow everything out. Worked fine. I built an adaptor with a ball valve to regulate how much air pressure I was sending. I have been running antifreeze for a few years now and it seems easier to me.
