My family has had great luck with the Vanguard rifles. They are pretty great. We have also had great success with the A-bolt, but we have no X-bolts in the family to offer an opinion.

I love the Weatherby Vanguard in .308 win that I used this year to harvest my deer. I don't have experience with the X-bolt, so can't offer a comparison.

I no experience with the vanguard but my daughter and I both have x-bolts and have had zero issues.

I've shot both a good deal in .243, 7mm, and 28 nosler. Vanguard are good for their price point but a bit heavy. Id go x-bolt all the way given the choice. Great accuracy, light, point well and carry like a rifle should.
