Unless you’re chasing strictly oversized sturgeon the Trevala or Terez is the best  you can run I think.  I run a 7’ Terez and a Okuma Metaloid two speed lever drag reel.  You can’t beat it.  I even run that rod halibut fishing with 2 lbs of lead and fishing 400’
