Well so far this summer hasn't been very productive for me in terms of fishing I have been a little slow with my knee but had fun at Neah Bay last weekend despite all the officials and now my wife is done for the summer in Cheney so we are going to go back to Curlew for the next month and stay on the lake with the boat tied to the dock in the front yard!!! Cant wait to get out there and go for some of the nice rainbows, that lake is full of freshwater shrimp and the night fishing is next to none. Plus I'm excited to try and catch a nice tiger musky.

We are leaving at 6am tomorrow, I'll try and keep people posted on how I do fishing on Curlew, don't know if I will have computer access very much in July. Plus its time to get my trail cameras going.

I'll be camping up there mid July, first time I've been to Curlew hope the fishing is good from pics I've seen looks like a beautiful place.

I was up there this weekend, fishing was a bit slow. We did see a 3ft plus tiger muskey

in the shallows, he was pretty cool to watch.

The place I'm staying at has slow!!! dial up but its better than nothing. Last night launched the boat at the public launch and had my wife run it a mile or so up the lake to where we are staying. Just while playing around on our dock I got 6 large mouth and 3 rainbows last night in about 30 minutes casting a black roostertail. Keep everyone posted on the fishing, plan on taking my kids today for a horse back ride and then take the boat out tonight with the kids and try a little trolling.

Curlew is awesome.
I always have better luck fishing from the dock at Curlew then trolling, I am not sure why? Both at the Fisherman's cove and Black's beach we do fantastic from the dock. My boys love that lake, they even made the fishing section on Fisherman's cave resort website

The younger one caught a squaw fish that was close to 10 lbs of the dock as well, lol.
Curlew holds some seriously big fish from trout, bass, and tiger's. I do not think I know a better lake for catching fish.

Went out onto the lake tonight and trolled for an hour and finially got into an area that had the fish, took about 15 minutes to get my limit at point, all the fish where about 12" - 14".

I will be over there on the 18 of jul until the 2 of aug been going since I was 8, I love that place over there and the fishing you cant beat especially for the kids ever cast you can just about count on a little bass keeps the little ones entertained well be at blacks beach. I wish someone would buy that place and keep it up a little better Als getting to old to keep it up, I just hope some rich guy dont buy it and close it down.

Went for Tigers last night, no takers, I saw 3 of them. Today I got a mess of nice trout one really nice 4 pounder. I have found still fishing this lake is the key to getting lots of bites. Powereggs seem to also be the key. The house I'm staying at looks down onto the lake only about 50' away and I was able to watch a nice tiger musky for about 10 minutes this afternoon, seen him there two days in a row. I think I may try night fishing soon, maybe on the 5th.

Does Al and Sharon still own Black Beach resort? I heard they sold out a couple of years ago. Sure nice folks but the place was getting pretty run down.

I think it is still for sale. I stopped by yesterday and there was an old bugger working there, nice guy, didn't catch his name.

You should have seen the tiger musky I saw today Freakin HUGE!!! looked like it was over 50" and as big around as a two gallon can. I spooked him with my boat when I was in the shallows, I didn't spot him fast enough so I backed out, Its the same spot I have seen one for the last two days so I think its the same fish. There is a submerged log that he is just holding off of. I'll keep trying to get him. Saw a lady this morning on the south side of the lake catch one about 25".

Yes they still own blacks and yes it still needs work, its been for sale for years now he wont move on the price of 1.2 mil, it could be a really great place if someone had the money to put into it.

Just got back from Curlew last night. I think I'm going to retire up on that lake when my time comes. First night caught well over 30 bass each between my dad and I. Same story for the next 3 days. Most dinks in the 4-9" range but did get a few pushing 12" and one about 15" or so. Throwing dt-4's and 4" smoke colored yamamoto grubs florida rigged in the shallows. Had 3 musky on, two about 12" and one upwards of 24". Lost all 3 of them right near the boat. Had another little 12" give me a follow. First day fishing we seen 6 tigers. 2 were 36" plus. Nice looking fish. We tried a bit for em but all that were hooked were incidental while fishing a rattle trap or other lure. MATCH THE HATCH! Baby bass pattern or something similar was slaying them in 1-4' of water. We managed 3 trout hookups with 1 boated while running the dt-4 cranks. The lake was just sweet with lots of fish caught morning and night. for 4 days I managed over 100 bass boated, many more lost. My dad hit 15 fish in 15 casts if that says anything

I can't wait to get back up there! We stayed at tiffanys and fishing form the docks seemed slow

The trout fishing slowed down the last couple days, I have been still fishing, I think I need to change over to night fishing or back to trolling at 30+ feet. Talked to the guy that runs the net pens yesterday and he said that out of the three pens two are 13' and one is 24' deep the two shallow ones are not doing well because the water is 70 degrees at the bottom of the pen. The water temp at 45' is still 55 degrees. I think this afternoon I'm going to go catch another 30 or 40 bass if the weather holds up, rained like you wouldn't believe yesterday. We had a 30" tree fall across the driveway last night that we where able to pull out of the way with a 3/4 ton truck, always nice to have in your way when you are coming back from town.

We fished yesterday morn in that first batch of rain. What a mess. Hit the rest of it on the way home headed towards Tonasket. The night fishing seemed to be the ticket

I have seen a couple caught, one about 40" but I have not been able to get one to take my bait yet (I have got one 43" in Idaho in a small 20 acre pond outside Troy

). The ones that people have been catching have been guys bass fishing. I was going to just cast plastics today but we have had some really nasty weather so I just went scouting for deer season, saw a couple really nice bucks.

I'm at a track camp this week be back up soon with more fishing and trail cam pics. The Saturday I get back is devoted to nother but fishing on Curlew lake, then the Sunday and Monday my buddy and I will be down at Rufus.

Just got back yesterday from a five day trip to the lake, caught literally hundreds of bass anything from 4" to 15", caught the biggest ones in Roberta, the night fishing for trout was incredible limits of 12-20" fish every night still fishing from a boat, the docks seemed slow although i did see one guy catch 2 off the dock that had to be 24"+ they looked like frickin' steelhead. That place is awesome we already made reservations for next year now I need to talk the old lady into a boat.

I stayed at Fisherman's cove the 11,12,13 of July. Caught some nice trout and I landed one musky that was 36 inches. That is a mean fish...always have a fun time there.
