CVA Accura LR-X
« on: November 30, 2025, 03:59:17 PM »
Took a while to decide but pulled the trigger on buying this muzzy.  Big J’s came down a bit on the original price, thanks Big J’s!  Anyone use white hot pellets? The owners manual recommends them?

I take it you are happy w the white hots?  Have you dialed down a good load, 2 or 3 pellets? Bullet?  I’m currently using 290 grain w triple 7 pellets out of my optima.

I have the same muzzleloader and am using blackhorn209powder with great success / accuracy.   I put a muzzle brake on mine and it made a HUGE difference in recoil.   A full load of powder with a heavy muzzy will make just about any guy recoil sensitive with these muzzleloaders.

Last year we shot the hornady ELD-X 340 grain bore drivers with great accuracy.

Mine is topped with an Eotech CPS2.  Works great, though I actually think I was more accurate with my western precision peep sight at longer ranges.

I also use Blackhorn 209 (until my supply runs out) and the 340 grain Hornady's with great success.  I'm using a Leupold red dot on mine.
