How do you scout for small game?
« on: November 17, 2025, 12:42:56 PM »
If I walk around an area trying to find small game, will I scare them off permanately? Or if I surprise some and come back later with a gun, will I have an OK chance of finding small game again? Specifically talking about rabbits, squirrels, upland game birds here. I know that is a wide range but I would like to know. Thanks
I f*cking love trees

The only ones 'scared off permanently' are the ones you eat, hunt on!!!!

Many times I have flushed a grouse along an old road ,came back in 30 minutes right back same spot.

They are there for a reason.

Food source
Water
Gravel

The only thing I would suggest regardless of small critter is ,you see three, kill only two.
Leave something to restock your spot.
That is if you value hunting over taking. :twocents:
