They use to recommend no lower than 3 1/2 lb. I use to ask the gunsmith to set mine at 3 and he would look at me like Obama was just elected to the Presidency!!!  :yike:

I know of home trigger job that resulted in the gun going off everytime the safety was taken off :o

Is that automatic?   :dunno:   (I know stupid pun)

My Marlin has the "Happytrigger' kit from Wild West Guns in Anchorage. They advertise 2-3lbs. It's like taping a light switch that's already halfway on/off..Too light for gloves though..
