Fall hunt
« on: November 11, 2025, 07:54:15 AM »
Did a trip up to Republic with the NWTF state board and wife's for a couple of us.  12 birds all together.  2 of us tagged out.  I tagged out last evening we hunted.  Last 5 minutes of shooting hours left.  4 birds 3 shots.  I learned adrenaline will make you do stupid things.  Shot the birds on an edge of a hill.  100' to the bottom.  Steep but walkable well for people don't have a jacked up back.  3 went to the bottom.  One was on the edged as I walked over to pick it up it did a flop and down it rolled so what did I do.  I went right down with it.  Sliding down the hill feet first.  I stayed even with the bird the first top 1/4 of the hill bit it beat me to the bottom.  Picked up the 4 birds then looked up and said to my self  what did I just do.  Well a climb up pretty gassed.  I am paying for it today.  I also never gutted 4 birds so quickly.  All and all a great weekend.  Some said something about a grumpy Squatch sighting there to.  My wife

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison
