Any success Pearrygin / Chewuch Quality hunters?
« on: November 14, 2025, 11:21:03 AM »
We went over last weekend for some scouting and a chance to look at some of these monsters but pretty sure we were only into the locals.  Saw 4 pretty nice shooters but nothing that looked like a migratory deer.  Didn't see many hunters but then again there was very little snow. Just awaiting my turn to draw one of these tags!
Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity.  John Muir

Rough conditions this year I think, fairly warm, not much highland snow, lots of fog. I know two tag holders both shot great bucks for general but not the ones you are after with those tags. Neither had the full season to hunt. No permission to post the pics.

Maybe the last few days will turn on.

I spent last weekend at my place just across the river in Gardner.  I saw a few local bucks pushing does near the house.   I did a quick five mile loop through my hunting area and saw several groups of unattended does and no bucks cruising.  There was no sign of any migratory bucks.

That area isn’t what is used to be. Too many people and not enough animals.
