GMU 530 bear prospects
« on: November 16, 2025, 08:21:46 AM »
Hey everyone. I live near Ryderwood and am new to big game hunting. I looked at prospects for bear in the area and noticed that 130 or so are taken from this area each year. Im wondering of it would be worthwhile to put time into next year since it's so close to me. Also, do bears in this type of area present as good table fair or are they eating salmon? Thanks!

Can’t speak to table fair in that area but close to home is a huge bonus for hunting opportunities

They are great eating. Mostly forage berries in late summer
