White River late archery
« on: December 01, 2025, 01:56:19 PM »
I have the white river quality tag for archery. I spent almost the entire season up here chasing bulls . Early season was awesome, met some cool dudes, had some opportunities at bulls. Never sealed the deal. Fast forward to late season and I have yet to lay eyes on an elk that’s in the unit, not on tribal, let alone a bull. Do all these bulls beat feet out even though there hasn’t been jack for snow? Any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

You want tons of snow, that will get them out of the park, that unit is where they go in the winter.  Your hunt should only get better with deep snow up top, drives them down.  good luck

When did they start doing late archery there.  I've had the tag twice and only remember getting the early season.

Been at least a couple years now, makes that tag even sweeter.  Very hard not to put in for it with that late season.  One issue is the amount of land you are able to hunt has shrunk by a lot with the mucks buying half and locking us out.  That's another subject in it's own.   :bash:

That’s been a challenge all on its own.
