Idaho unit 10A
« on: Yesterday at 09:28:49 PM »
Headed over there at the end of this week.  Haven’t been back over there for years.  My buddy has a little property above Dworshak but he said the wolves have wiped out most of the deer on their property (wouldn’t mind putting my tag on one of those either) and the potlatch land we used to Hunt on is no longer accessible.

Anyone hunted over there recently have any insight?  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What happened to the potlatch land? Hunted this unit many years ago.

The bucks are dumb as hell right now. Been seeing 3-8 bucks a day working 5 days a week and partial days on the weekends. Get on OnX and you’ll find land to hunt. Select potlatch stuff closer to town is being parceled out.

Lots of logging going on so be mindful of log trucks. Been a wee bit soggy so not as many trucks on the roads as normal currently.

Can’t help with dworshak area, but rut was full on in the  SE corner of 10 (we had tags for 12 and 16) and tons of public land to hunt in that area. You’re hunting the perfect time. Good luck!

Rut is on. Lots of land to hunt. You should have no trouble finding a buck.

most of the whitetail seasons end 12/1 in Idaho. Pretty sure down there is Nov 20. What I hate is if you buy a regular deer tag they won’t let you hunt whitetails till Nov 20.

It changed back to 12/1 this year. Most of the stakeholders in the meetings last winter and the folks who provided input to the IDFG survey wanted it changed back to 12/1.
