Guided Ice Fishing WA
« on: November 21, 2025, 10:07:41 PM »
I've done a little google and come up short.

Last year I took the family out to Whitefish, MT and we did the sled dogs, Glacier NP, and Ice Fishing... our family always try to do a winter trip for adventure.

My Father just moved to the east coast ... well long story... so cutting to the chase when I think of my father and what I love doing with my father it was always fishing. Now with probably not too many "good" year left we've slotted to bring him out the second weekend of February to see my daughters while they are on mid-winter break and I am hoping to take the family out on a similar trip in WA but with Grandpa. We are based out of Vancouver so this would apply to anywhere lets pretend withing a half days drive. Curlew I know is great and is 7hrs so lets call that the radius.

Ideally we would end up somewhere where we could spend a day on the ice fishing but also another day snow shoeing, tubing, doing other snow/winter activities. So yes I saw maybe fish lake by Levenworth, Potholes could freeze enough, Bonapart, Curlew, Patterson, Roses.... if you can ice fish we can find other things to do. Bring our own sleds, find a near by slope, snow shoe a trail, etc. That's all easy. But I dont have ice fishing gear and I'd love that to be one day with my Dad and his Grand Daughters.

So are there guides in WA?
Does anyone want to welcome us along in their tent? (Wife, 3 kids, Grandpa, and I)
Is there something I should be looking for in Eastern, OR or Western, ID? I think I heard once Cascade Lake can be good and that 7hrs...

Wife wants to keep it to a 2-3 hr drive so we are probably going to get stuck around hood if I cant come up with something Great. And maybe I am missing something up there.

Would love the help or tips or suggestions. This will likely be the last winter my Dad can do an adventure like this with my girls....
