I've never had much luck with it.  A small spoon usually out fishes it 5 to 1.

There are some folks that shape there power bait into a spoon shape.
Fish power bait like a spoon , don't fish on the bottom.
I tried it , didn't work for me. But I have heard about it.

Don't fish for trout much anymore, but when I was younger, we would troll using this method all the time.  Was extremely effective for us and was a fun way to fish as well, since they would either slam it, or they would chew on it and you would have to wait for the rod to load before setting the hook.

Longer lighter leader often seems best. Slip sinker for sure. About a  #6 if using a single hook. Add a marshmallow or corkie if you need more floatation. A guy I knew swore by rolling the bait in extra glitter - claimed it would gradually fall off and attract fish. I've done it and caught fish, but hard to say if it was a difference maker.

 :yeah:
A garlic marshmallow below the bait on a slip sinker rig with about 30" of leader was our setup when we had to use soak baits
I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies

Well it turns out that four dimensional chess is really just a bunch of random, disorganized synapses from a delusional, addled mind.

Say what you will but Trump has clearly lost the plot

Even the stupid people are starting to get it

Bumble bee!!! is my go to, then Nymph, pink and orange about the same... I really like the power eggs in orange, pink, white... Never did much with the yellow... If they're hitting those it's a deadly combo... Put two on a #4  Gamakatsu red egg hook with 18" leader and a sliding sinker... Bonus is they stay on the line and are very reusable... Caught many a limit on two power eggs... They don't just fall off cause of weeds or a missed hook up...
I love you... I really do...

2 anchors from a boat worked best with Power bait for me.Keep the boat still, keep the line still and wait for it to start ripping out.

Did find a garlic flavor, and another jar of cheese.
I've been having good luck with cheese flavor.
I might have to order corn flavor online , can't find in store.
Bought the last cheese at my Walmart, had to look through all the jars to find it.

That garlic ,never tried it. Pretty excited, but I've been fishing past couple weekends.
So it might be awhile before I go again.

You're mostly talking about the hatchery fish anyway, so here's one I stumbled on... Doing the float-up-from-a-sinker method, I got lots of hits when I just started to reel in to check things. (Flat bait means you had a bite, round bait still untouched.) So, one time, when I was in a rowboat, I decided to do a slow troll with it. I mean... S....L.....O....W......... So slow that the bait floated slightly above the weight in the water column. So slow that even if the bait wanted to spin when I reeled it in it wouldn't spin when I trolled it.

Was in an I82 pond with lots of competition, and we LOADED UP. Way faster than anybody else was catching them.

Drifting PB works well for steelhead. Tie in yarn as usual and ball up your favorite color around that yarn.
