Peak 44 or AG Composite?
« on: January 25, 2026, 01:18:04 PM »
Anybody have any experience with either of these stocks with a Tikka? Just bought a 7PRC stainless lite and want to put it in a carbon fiber stock. Looking at the Peak 44 Bastion or the AG Composite Alpine Hunter or Visigoth as I like more of a vertical grip. Both are similar in price.

I have a Rem 7mm mag in an AG Alpine Hunter.  It's nice, but not as nice as my 7PRC in a Manners Eh-1.  I have never heard of  Peak 44 so can't help with that.

From what I understand, (peak 44) makes a bunch of Weatherby stocks, besides what they offer for aftermarket.

I have 2 tikkas in AG alpine hunters and really like them, probably my favorite stock.  Have one in a stockys VG as well.  For the price difference of a stockys VG on sale I think I will be going that route more in the future.

Have a Peak 44 Bastian I got for a 338-378 Weatherby.  Reslly like it.  Downside is I wish it was 1/2” longer.  I put a silicone slipon over stock pad to gain a bit.  Super light.  Need to bed it.

I have another Peak sporter Im building an untralight pack rifle with.

Have a couple Eh1’s and like em but palm swell is a little big.

For Tikkas, I have the Stocky’s and an Alltera. Love them both!

There is a guy online that 3d prints a 1/2" spacer for the Peak 44 that accepts a shape to fit recoil pad. It looks really good and performs well from what I've  seen.

I have the stockys VG also, and is real similar to my manners EH1.  More than happy with it for the price.  I think you can still get the Rok30 30% discount if you give them a call.

I looked at a Weatherby today with the Peak 44 Bastian stock. I would hesitate to use that stock at all. Even for offhand shots on Blacktail.
