Cleaning glass
« on: December 17, 2025, 11:19:10 AM »
I've got some water marks, dirt and debris on and in my binoculars, rangefinder and rifle scopes. What do you guys use to clean your optics. And maybe more importantly, what not to do. Thanks!

If you're talking high end optics don't use any spray or pre moistened cleaning wipes that aren't specifically recommended by your mfg for your particular optic. Different optics have different types of coatings that can be damaged or degraded by using the wrong cleaning agent. I personally use light air or blow on it for the big stuff then just steamy breath and a clean microfiber lens cloth to gently wipe away the rest. Rarely need more than that. You can use one of those soft lens brushes if you have a lot of debris along the edges of the lens.  :twocents:

I use a spud glass cleaning cloth and I keep a Leupold lens pen in my truck. Use them both.
