Going to ENNIS to shed hunt!!!
« on: July 01, 2009, 01:10:29 PM »
Howdy all,

I am getting ready for a trip to Ennis Montana in a few days. I will be doing some very late and very hot shed hunting while I am there. My buddy who lives there went out the other day and found 27 elk and mule deer sheds. I will post some pics if I find anything. All in all it should be a fun trip we will be hiking all day spending the night in the wilderness area and walking out the next day. Just hope I don’t run into a wolf like that one that has been floating around on the web. Anyhow just thought I would share with everybody I’ll add some pics later I’ll be home on the 14th.

you'll enjoy it. it's beautiful there. you can always jump in the madison if you get too hot.

don't forget your camera.

I grew up around Dillion fishing the beaverhead river before it was all private.  Spent lots of time in sheridan, Twin Bridges and Virginia City.  Still have lots of reletives in the area. :hello:

This is our sleeping arrangement!! We had it rough! The other pic is of a calf that decided it was to damn hot outside and he needed to go for a swim. He sat there for a good five min until we scared him off. I hope he found the herd.

Ok here are the sheds! The first picture is of my buddy's living room. Those are what he has found this year. The next is a picture of our first days total. The third and fourth pics are from my buddy's camera he found these a few weeks before we showed up.

So after all the work and all the heart ache we ended up with a whole lot of old crap! I guess my buddy picked them all up before we got there hahaha. I think we just went to damn high. After talking it over with my buddy we think that we should have been a little lower and father to the south. The last pics are of a little gift i left my buddy on his couch when we left and a other is a pic of my left foot after we made it back to his house. I have a blister on my right foot to match. All in all it was a great trip wish we would have found more sheds but hey that's life. I will have to spend a few extra days there next time.
