This is just the hump. It is more than enough to try to lug around. Grandma is doing her best to keep it from sliding off the handrail.

The last time I heard this herd was in Piss poor shape and half starved. I would want pictures before I would bid on that hunt. Maybe one of the mighty native hunter could chime in.

That’s my bison skull…my hunt/shoot was in SE Montana with my best friend and my son. Truly an experience to remember. A magnificent animal raised on the plains by a subsistence rancher who charged $1000 skinned and hauled out…12 years ago. Memories trump everything else for me.  Witnessing the beauty of the herd and behavior of the animals only added to their majesty. One well placed shot of 180 grain 30.06 put him down and out…not running with a stick in its side bleeding profusely.  My so and best buddy did the same. Got a beautiful shoulder mount head, the skull and a tanned hide that is just awesome. Sure money was involved but if you can afford it…My son made leather out of the hide and has made several items…gloves bag seat cover for his Harley. Bottom line 2 freezers full of prime bison meat that fed us for a couple years…same for my best buddy and son. Driving back with 3 hanging bison loaded in the trailer, pictures, stories and bison hides heads and skulls…those memories are forever. That being said…their price is to rich for my blood now but then that is what hunting has morphed into. By the time my 20+ points on a moose hunt pay out…that price will be to high for my wife but  what is the price of memories?

$1K sounds like a bargain. Well done.

that was a grand 12 years ago.   :bash:  If it appreciated at even 10 % it should be valued about 3200.

Skinned and hauled out would still be a bargain.
