Wyoming 2026, who's in?
« on: January 26, 2026, 02:46:11 PM »
In with 7 pts for general elk (W).  It'll be my first time hunting WY.

Thinking about doing early October to hit end of the rut and make sure H tag mule deer hunters will be out of the woods, though I guess I could go late September and bring archery equipment and split archery and rifle 50:50.  Either way, can't wait!

In for elk in the random, looking for an antelope tag with a pile of buddies with about 7-8 points. Got 16 deer points I’ll think I’ll be buying a point again I’m just not fired up on any deer hunts that are in my range

Probably for antelope and potentially deer and elk.   No place I'd rather be in the fall.

Just finished our Google Meets hunt meeting. We are in for 4 cow tags and one special bull tag. I have one less than max points and still not sure if it's going to get it done.
I hope everyone gets their tags and has a stellar fall.

I’m in for general elk. Still undecided if I’m going to hunt region G for deer this year or if I’ll wait till 2027.

Put in for a random elk tag. I'm sure I'll probably draw. Better pencil it in on my calendar.

Will be in for deer, antelope, cow elk, and bull elk. Winters have been mild the last 4 years after the killer one. Numbers should be increasing along with age class. Bucks we saw last year were finally somewhat mature after three years of dinks after the bad winter in 2022. Good luck to you all. Will draw my bull tag for sure this year with my 15 points finally.

Probably will miss Wyoming deer again this year. My area I like to go with local friends is still decimated from winter kill and blue tongue. They are actually
Planning to move to Montana because the hunting is getting so bad and human population keeps growing.

They just might be sorely disappointed on both fronts if they think Montana will be better

Have you hunted it before or spent time around Thermopolis? I never have but I got a tip to the area in ‘18 for my brother in law & 2 nephews & they killed a 77,75 & 73. I hunted 96 that year & killed an 80 3/8 in there with a friend from Green River. Creep is going to put 96 out of reach for us but should have a point to play with for 83.🤞🏼

Highway 120 between Meeteetse and Thermopolis past highway 431 has BLM land in unit 83 with antelope. There are always antelope near Grass Creek Road. I would check that area out. North of Thermopolis there is some BLM land on the west side of highway 20 but much of it is landlocked.

You should be able to find antelope without too much trouble. Finding a trophy will be more challenging but fun.

Nope. We put in for Montana first for the big game combo and drew so maybe montana next year. As of right now I have 14 antelope, 13 deer, and 5 elk points I need to use up already.  So maybe next year.

Got my elk tag.  Wasn't worried though.  Had way more points than I needed but I have been booked with a guide for 6 years so and had 5 at that time.  I couldn't burn any sooner than this year or I wouldn't have drawn for my hunt.

I'm going to go play in Grizzly Central in September!!!
