There was a discussion about FHC in 2013 but I see none since.

https://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,117066.msg1541713.html#msg1541713

I just learned of this and with WDFW closing down the Western WA Pheasant program, I’m looking for alternatives to keep my dog happy! Wink-wink

I am only interested in UPLAND. Most discussion in other thread was about pros and cons of waterfowl there. Would Appreciate any feedback folks have about recent experience there.

Not really any first hand knowledge, but....I was made aware of them via a fellow hunter at Scatter Creek.  In his words, not always the best property, but access to public land that is hard for the public to access.  Last year I had a lengthy phone conversation with the manager and checked out their HQ on the way the South Dakota.  Pretty bare bones.  Each trailer site had power, IIRC there was water available, but all above ground (freezing).  I wouldn't want to leave my RV in the park all winter so that precludes having a "base camp" on the other side of the mountains for me.

He had given me a OnX outline of a few properties, but I didn't have time to check them out until this year on the way to SD.  One had a YUGE collection of trailers either on or adjacent. Without boots on the ground, the public land (BLM) around seemed just as viable.

The manager did say he had some good quail properties, but I had no details on where.

I'm not a waterfowler which seemed to be a significant portion of their appeal.

For me, it was a bit pricey if I was having to drive the RV for every trip and possibly tow the Jeep for hunting excursions on a mix of public and private.  I could camp for say a long weekend at the BLM parking lot for free.

Instead I hunted 3 states for wild birds and WA for planters for similar investment that didn't risk my RV for similar $$$.

Dunno if that helps.
