I hung a chunk of beaver in a tree yesterday with a camera on it. I have another chunk to go hang in another spot. Thanks for the motivation to get after it!
Post up some pics if you get one feeding!

In the video you mentioned pan tension. Is there a certain amount of pan tension you like? Do you measure pan tension, or just go by feel and instinct?
Great video. Lots of info. Thanks.

I try and put just a little bit more tension on it than I'd imagine the cat weighs. I want him to bite onto the bait and push down with his paws while trying to rip off a piece. Sometimes I get home and forget if I checked it. Same feeling as when you wonder if you remembered to turn your cam on  :chuckle:

Maybe a dumb question but im new to trapping. Is there anywhere to get beaver aside from trapping them yourself?

Roadkill or from another trapper. But I'd encourage you to pick up beaver trapping as well. Then you aren't relying on happenstance or someone else. Completes the process nicely if you do everything yourself. I actually enjoy the beaver trapping just as much.

Some stupid head forgot about the part where you make sure the ravens won’t see it. It’s me. I’m the stupid head. I have a lot of pictures of ravens now.

An example today of just pulling out of the area without even looking at the sd card.

I didn't tie my chunk of beaver up well enough, and that chunky cat ripped it down and hasn't been back lol! Not to self, secure the bait better!

Which traps are you using and what size are they? I've never trapped before but its always intrigued me and after watching this video I'm doing it next season.

Maybe you know this but you will have to pass trapper training to get a trapping license. You can do it online or come to the WSTA Summer Rendezvous for an in person class.

Very aware of the requirements and also the knowledge needed. Thanks for reminding me.
