To those with lots of experience, do you think size depends on how low of a tide there is? It seemed like if I stayed basically in the water(the closest possible to the ocean) that I got bigger clams. Lots of folks pulling above where the waves never hit while you were digging, but the clams were deeper, and mostly smaller. I am still newer at this.

You can find a higher % of bigger clams lower in the tidal zone. I think they don't get picked off as often as higher up which is exposed many more times, not that you can't find some bigger clams there.
