Bowsandhose Bull mount (By Charlies Taxidermy @ Travis!)
« on: July 02, 2009, 05:07:27 PM »
Well, we finally got to take some time and get Travis's bull mounted. We had a total of 25 hours into this bad boy. Talk about modifications. Everything had to be modified from the head to the shoulders! Oh what fun!! This was a very fun project and I feel I have payed my debt to him and his dad for inviting me into there "Hunting Camp" for one of the best hunting experiences I have ever had! Oh and also for helping me pack my bull out  :chuckle: Anyway, here his is up and drying. I wish we would have taken more pictures, but we were working our tails off. Huge Capes are a pain in the Butt but well worth the extra effort! He is a fresh mount and drying at this point, in about a month or so we will be doing the finish work on this critter!! Enjoy the pics everyone! And thanks for letting me partake in this mounting adventure with you Travis! I need dome more bear brats by the way, those were GOOD!!  :chuckle:

great looking mount. That is a huge bull.

how big is a mount like that? how far does it stick out from the wall to the farthest point of the mount? then from the nose to the end of the antlers?

It sticks out 4'6" from wall to the farthest point and it is 5' from tip of the nose to the end of the main beam. It has pretty good clearence on an 8 foot cieling, it sits at the right level to really see the detail in the mount . I like looking at mounts at eye level.

I do too, but they take up a lot of space at eye level.  I would rather have them higher and still be able to walk under them and still make use of the space under them.

I can't help but drool everytime I look at that Bull ----looks like great work on the mount to match the quality of the Bull.  Well done
