Springer season getting close, who's going
« on: Yesterday at 01:51:06 PM »
It's almost that time.  We are officially done with kids in HS spring sports and this will be the first year I can really plan something.  Who's going?

Just got back from Bob's, all stocked up on herring. Will be fishing out of Willow Grove and Kalama as much as possible until it closes.

Can’t wait to start doing this in my new to me boat. Did a charter last year and I’m hooked.

I'd do it again in a second, but only as a guest!!  I would not want to be the captain of any boat in that chit show, but pretty fun as a client.

Drano is like a drug..  you know it's not good for your health but people can't stay away...  I'm with t, no way I'd take my boat unless I was making a gamble on early season before it gets crazy..  I've been there on someone else boat early and we did get fish.

Of all of you going, how many are trolling vs hog lining?

I watched Vlad Siryk dive Drano on his youtube and pull out thousands of dollars worth of flashers and lead balls from a tall tree snag... Was pretty impressive... Had to have been years worth...

I'll be bank fishing the Clearwater in May and June if that counts.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

I suggest we all collectively boycott the entire month of March for springer fishing and force dfw to extend the season in April with the remaining quota! That being said I will try to fish the very tail end in early April provided water conditions permit it.
The sea lions are already stacked at the cowlitz mouth and likely up and down the main river for miles. The last couple years just haven't been worth it to fish when the barking furbags have overrun the river. Once the smelt dissipate they thin out.
Fish hard, hunt harder!
